Our Love Story

Somehow, back in 2019, Nic's spur-of-the-moment decision to pop over to Vietnam led her, within her first 24 hours, to a quirky watering hole on the fishing banks of Tay Ho, where she cast her line and caught the love of her life, Stu.

Since that evening, they've never glanced in the rearview mirror, choosing instead to cherish life's simple joys, taking each one head-on like a powerful Springbok scrum driving forward.

Stu departed Vietnam for South Africa during the pandemic year, and as if to solidify fate, Nic's took his exact job in Hanoi, teaching the same little rascals. Though oceans apart, it didn't stop them messaging and calling daily until the cows came home. After 10 months apart, they found their way back into each other's arms in Hanoi.

Vietnam became home for six years. Here they started life together in a sunny apartment that grew into a tropical rainforest, complete with a tiny turtle named Raya. Surrounded by their favourite people, they embarked on moments too precious to comprehend.

Scooters through the chaos, scuba-diving the ocean floor, karaoke, cocktails, street food and endless pickleball. They'd found each other, their people, their happy place.

On one adventure, they landed in Dondra, Sri Lanka, where lighthouse in view, Stu dropped to one knee. Trembling fingers, locked eyes, and before they knew it, Nic's was spinning in Stu’s arms like a koala in high winds. Laughter, love and excitement filled the bay.
